Peace

“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give you, I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” -Jesus (John 14:27)

Let these words of Jesus to you sink in for a few moments.

No really, read it again. Then read it out loud.

Let his truth wash over you in these times of struggle. Let them call you out of the fear and anxiety the world is in. Let these words remind you who is in control for the One who holds the world in his hands is in control. Read it again.

Spend some time confessing your fears and axieties (1 Peter 5:7). Maybe you need to throw in confessing your pride, like I do. Then give all these fears and anxieties and whatever else it is over to Jesus. Give yourself some time to truly give it over to him (in other words, be quiet for a minute). Maybe you need to visualize putting them in a box or bundle them up like sticks and give them to Jesus. If you are struggling ask the Lord to help you. Again, give yourself some time to make sure you actually let him take it. Don’t just move on in you prayer (like we all normally do) but take some time to listen and receive God’s truth over you.

Now spend some time praying God’s peace over you. Then pray His peace over your family, then over your work, then over the world.

“Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you” (2 Thessalonians 3:16)
