Undivided

“O Eternal One, guide me along Your path
so that I will live in Your truth.
Unite my divided heart so that I will fear Your great name.” – Psalms 86:11 VOICE

Most people go through life with divided hearts. One part is for God, one is for the world, and even another is for them self.  This divided heart is what keeps us from the real life and joy that comes from an undivided heart. 

The problem is that we don’t know any better. Our view of God is stunted by what we’ve experienced both in ourselves and those around us. Our theology is shaped by the Christian culture we are surrounded by, so we put God in a box saying that He can and will only do what we’ve seen or what we know to be true. We give Him that small piece of our heart where we believe He can work in. But what if God is more? What if God wants more for you?

What do you think God’s truth is for you?

Spend some time in quiet reflection. Ask the Lord to reveal to you how your heart is divided. Ask Him to shatter the box you’ve put Him in and expose the real truth. Ask Him to unite your heart that you may walk in His truth.
