“This is the kind of love we are talking about– not that we once upon a time loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to clear away our sins and the damage they’ve done to our relationship with God. My dear, dear friends, if God loved us like this, we certainly ought to love each other.” – 1 John 4:10-11 MSG
How much love do you have for God?
That’s the wrong question, isn’t it? It’s not about you, and how much you are doing for God, and how much you love God; it is, however, about how God loves us and is restoring our relationship with Him despite our sinful selves. That is what makes you who you are. You have to grasp this before you can move on to the next part.
God is love. The more you know Him the more capable you are to love. Your love for your family comes from God. Your love for your spouse, comes from Him. Your love for anyone, comes from the Source of love.
Why is it so hard to love others sometimes? Maybe because we don’t realize how sinful we are and how much God loves us. We’re the hypocrites. Once we get to a place where we realize we’re sinful perople saved by the grace of God, then we can’t help but extend that grace to those who are in the same boat.
Love someone today. A kind word goes a long way.
